Subject: Action Alert: Turn Out The Lights For Earth Hour
Hello neighbors,
This Saturday, March 27th at 8:30 P.M., Broward County residents will join people, organizations, corporations and governments around the world for Earth Hour, making a bold statement about their concern for climate change by doing something quite simple: turning off their non-essential lights for one hour. In the U.S. where we are already feeling the impacts of climate change, Earth Hour sends a clear message that Americans care about this issue and want to turn the lights out on dirty air, dangerous dependency on foreign oil and costly climate change impacts, and make the switch to cleaner air, a strong economic future and a more secure nation.
Participation is easy. By flipping off your non-essential lights this Saturday, March 27th at 8:30 P.M. you can join 1 billion concerned citizens throughout the world calling for action to save our planet for future generations. You can add your name and city to the list of participants at www.myEarthHour.org.
Since its inception three years ago, Earth Hour's non-partisan approach has captured the world's imagination and became a global phenomenon. Nearly one billion people turned out for Earth Hour 2009 - involving 4,100 cities in 87 countries on seven continents. Last year, 80 million Americans and 318 U.S. cities officially took action with their light switch, joining iconic landmarks from around the world that went dark for Earth Hour.
Earth Hour is easy, fun and absolutely free. To get more information on Earth Hour 2010, visit www.myEarthHour.org.
I hope you'll join us, and encourage people you know in our community to also take part - and send me before and after pictures as you turn out the lights to share your experience!
Don't forget - Saturday, March 27th at 8:30 P.M., take action, turn out the lights!
As always, if there is anything that you need assistance with, please feel free to contact my office at (954) 357-7002. Thank you for all that you do!
