E-Project Update - West Wellfield Project - 1/11/2010
*	The contractor, Downrite Engineering, has completed the water main
installation from the Floridan Aquifer 2 (FA 2) site to the Water Plant,
including pressure testing on the last section.  
*	In mid-January, work will begin on the Biscayne well, next to the
Floridan well. Equipment is being staged at the site.
*	Drilling of the 36" diameter bore hole for the final piece of casing
is complete, and the 24" casing has been installed down to 985' below
ground. The contractor is currently completing the concrete backfill to
close the area between the casing and the ground.
*	The water main from the FA 2 well will be used to dispose of water
generated during the development of the FA 2 well.  
*	Residents of Century Village have requested a sidewalk from the east
gate down to the intersection of SW 10th Street and Military Trail. The city
contacted FDOT, which has agreed to provide crosswalk signals. Staff is
proposing a change order to the well field contract for installation of the
sidewalk as part of the restoration. This will be on the next Commission
agenda.
