Subject: West Well Field Update

 

Drilling on Biscayne well 23 at SW 24th Avenue is continuing, with the first
casing set and grouted to a depth of 90 feet.  The remaining depth, to a
total of approximately 180 feet, has been reached with a 12-inch pilot hole
and is expected to be bored out to final diameter of 29 inches early next
week.  This will result in the setting of the stainless steel screen and
remaining casing sometime mid week, Wednesday most likely, Thursday if they
run into a problem.  Once the screen and remaining casing pipe is set the
void area around them is filled with a special blend of sand and gravel.
This is a slow and time consuming work that will run into the late evening,
possibly all night.  The operation is not the noisy heavy drilling and only
has a small generator for operating some lights. An additional update will
be sent out Monday or Tuesday.  Please call if you have any questions or
