Mary,

The intent here was to make available shutters to a family that may not be
fortunate to purchase the cost of new shutters.

The way I see it , it is better served to help someone in the community then
to sell it for scrap. I really don't need to money that bad.

Heck, I would have even give it away if the person asked for it.

Actually what I had in mind (but did not convey it as I wanted to be a
surprise), was to donate the proceeds to the association.

I have someone from work that offered me $400 for it, but like I said, I
wanted to offer it to someone in Waterford homes that could really use it.

I guess I will retract the offer since it seems to be causing some concern.

Your point is well taken and will work on a solution for offering a "for
sale section" for Waterford homes.

Thanks for your input and suggestions.

It would be important to mention that these do not meet the current
Miami-Dade code.and that a permit is required to install shutters. I'm not
certain, but I think that means that these shutters cannot be installed
through the "proper channels." When I had impact windows installed on my
home in 2008, I took my old shutter panels to a scrap yard that pays for the
metal; you will probably get close to what you are asking, and the scrap
yard is very close (on Powerline Rd., just S of Hillsboro, on the E side).

 

I hope that this HOA email list does not become a re-sale website, although,
at times, I too think that it would be convenient! But, then again, there
are those, such as myself, that joined this email list because of the
monitoring that you provide to make certain that those type of emails do not
pass through.

All,

Since some homeowners may be on a budget and have not yet installed storm
shutters, I wanted to pass this along first before I post in the paper or
the net.

 

I have the following shutter storm panels available with tracks.

25            88" 
25           70" 
10           45" 
These shutters were used only once and are in excellent condition. 
Spent over $2000 back in 1995. 
Asking $175 
Reply back ASAP if interested.

 

I also have a hot tub in case anyone is looking.
