      Sign up for E-Project Updates

      The city has a new way to keep residents informed about the progress of city projects. The service is called E-Project Updates, and visitors to this website can now sign up to receive weekly status reports. The West Wellfield project - located on the south side of SE 10th Street, just west of Military Trail - is the first project for which this service is available. E-Project Updates will be available for other city projects in the coming weeks.

      West Wellfield Project Update - 11/2/09

      Installation of the water main across SW 10th Street (just west of Military Trail) will begin on Sunday, Nov. 8, and will occur when traffic volume is lowest, from 9 PM - 5 AM. At night, SW 10th Street will always have one lane open in each direction. All lanes will be open during the day. This phase is expected to take up to seven nights. 

      The 440' casing installed earlier this month has been grouted into place, and drilling is expected to begin soon on the next 1,000 feet. Crews have also fused pipe sections together for the horizontal drilling under the canal, which will begin this week. 
     

 

Overnight work on SW 10th Street begins Nov. 8 

Contractors for the West Wellfield project (located on SW 10th Street, just west of Military Trail) have acquired FDOT approval to proceed with installation of the water main across SW 10th Street. The installation is expected to take up to seven days, beginning on Sunday, November 8, and will occur daily during non-peak traffic hours, from 9 PM - 5 AM. While work is in progress, at least one lane will be open in each direction on SW 10th Street. ALL lanes will be open during the day.
