[Email] Be Aware People Knocking on Doors for Water Sample

A resident in Deer Run reported:

12:00 pm on Nov. 4 a guy came knocking on the door said is was here to check my water and wanted me to take a little tube he had in his hand and go fill it up with water and then bring back to him....was in normal clothes and a what looked like a homemade paper name tag with the name bernard on it......called the police waiting for them to get back to me on what they found.....

My husband works for the water plant in Deerfield and he said that the City does not ask residents to fill little bottles from their taps. The sample guy will usually take a sample from an outside tap.  They will also be in a city marked car or truck. If residents have any question or suspicions they can call the Water Plant at 954-480-4370. We normally sample on Mon, Tues, And Wed,most of the time sampling is completed before 12:00 noon.
