All,
Just a reminder and clarification of the email addresses of the City
Commissioners.
If you have already sent an email to the commission, we urge you to send it
again to each individual commissioner as well just to be sure they actually
get it.
Also a phone call would not hurt as well.

We hope you can make it to the meeting as the outcome of this project will
directly affect the value of our property in Waterford Homes.
Please get involved and let your neighbors know about this meeting. We all
need to work together on this.
If you think for a moment that "someone else will go for me, or this does
not mean anything to me" think again. As a community, we all need to work
together and that is what makes Waterford Homes such a great community to
live in. At the very least, please write a letter and send it to the
commissioners. Please copy <mailto:board at waterfordhomes.org>
board at waterfordhomes.org when you do send a letter so we are aware of it and
can provide copies at Tuesday's meeting.
Thanks again for your time.
Hello Waterford Homes Residents,
YOUR ATTENDANCE AT THE CITY COMMISSION MEETING ON TUESDAY, JUNE 23RD AT 7
PM IS VERY IMPORTANT!
What's been happening with this project?
Your association board and several concerned residents have been actively
participating in meetings, calls and workshops with the city. Our goal has
been to minimize the impact on the value of our homes in our community while
still allowing the city to develop three water wells for city water use in
the vacant lots between SW 24th and SW 28th Avenues on SW 10th Street.
At this point, we have managed to move the water well building 15 feet
further away from the homes and received a commitment from the city to keep
the sound berm in tact. However, we have not yet been able to achieve all
of our goals, including having the city research moving the building away
from all resident homes to a new location, using natural gas generators
instead of diesel generators and providing all the landscaping necessary to
replace the foliage that was torn away two years ago (when the city started
this project).
At this point, we are rapidly approaching the start date for the project
(July 6th). This project is planned to continue for 13 months and will
impact the look, sight and sounds in our community. Since we have not been
able to review all of the engineering research and documentation surrounding
this project and the feasibility of moving the building away from the
residential homes, we have asked our commissioner to place an agenda item on
the city agenda for Tuesday night's meeting that asks for the city to delay
the start of the project until all options can be thoroughly investigated.
We need your support in asking the city to postpone the start of the project
until all options have been researched so that we can obtain the best
possible outcome for our community. This building, where it is placed and
how it looks will ultimately affect the value of every home in our
community. Please call the city commissioner's office and leave a message
for Mayor Nolan and Commissioner Ganz, asking them to vote to delay the
start of this project at this time.
The future of Waterford Homes is on the line and your support is needed now!
Joan Maurice
President, Waterford Homeowners Association
