This is an update I received a short time ago on this incident from our
Sergeant at BSO.
The suspect is a black male, approximately 5'10" with a medium build and
wearing 'dreadlocks' style hair. The vehicle is described as a dark blue or
dark green Nissan with tinted windows and dark (smoked) headlights.
Be on the lookout for this vehicle and / or individual and report any
sighting to the Sheriff's office, but do not approach.
A perimeter had been immediately set up, but the suspect was not
apprehended, so it's possible he may return to the neighborhood.
C.O.P. patrols have the vehicle and suspect description and will continue to
patrol area.

I just received this email from my neighbor.
Pierre's house which he rented to the college students was just broken into.
One of the girls was home and surprised the guy. He took off through Leon's
yard in his vehicle. There are cops and helicopters all over the place
right now. They got through the hurricane impact window somehow.
It turns out that Cam unknowingly walked by the guy and he was a black guy
talking on the phone in front of their house. He was driving a dark blue
Nissan, with dark tinted windows. The girl was coming home for lunch and is
pretty scared. Naturally she wants to move now.
This residence is across the street from me on SW 27th ave. I do not know
their address. PLease be on the lookout for this car. I am pretty sure I saw
the same car a few weeks ago sitting in front of the park on the south side
of the bridge.

Just in.
A report from one of our residence demonstrates the amazing power of looking
out for one another.
After leaving his home and driving away, he spotted someone coming out of
the bushes along Military trail.
See maps below for area involved.
After some thought, he decided safer than sorry and called the police. It
took only 2 minutes before the deputy pulled up and soon discovered that
this person had a warrant out for his arrest.
It is unclear if a home was broken into, but it is clear that the action of
one of our residents paid off.
This should serve as a reminder that looking out for our neighborhood is a
good thing.
By the way, we had some recent work done to our home and I received three
calls from various neighbors wanting to make sure that our house was not
being broken into. For that I wish to thank those that did take the time.
